Leadership:

The Saved Sect was thought to be led by former Al-Muhajiroun leader, Omar Bakri Mohammed. It has since reconstituted under a new banner with leadership falling to Sulayman Keeler.

Origins:

The Saved Sect was believed to have succeeded the UK-based Al-Muhajiroun Salafi terrorist organization, which was implicated in numerous international terrorist incidents dating back to 1986. The Saved Sect emerged in 2005 and operated for one year before being proscribed by the British government. After proscription, the Saved Sect is believed to have reconstituted under the banner of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah with Sulayman Keeler as leader.

Ideological Roots:

The Saved Sect subscribes to a radical interpretation of Islam and draws its ideology from the radical Islamic propaganda of Osama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri, and Omar Bakri Mohammed.

Objectives:

The Saved Sect targets Muslim communities in Western countries with the aim of propagating and consolidating Islamic values and adherence to Islam.

Tactics:

Protest, internet propaganda, death threats, incitement to murder.
